Ghoul Grub - Halloween Craft Idea

Ghoul Grub

Use empty food boxes to make a Halloween decoration.

What you will need for this project:

Empty box
Wall or craft paint
Water color or poster paint
Toilet paper roll or a piece of paper cut into a diamond shape
Dollar store glitter and glue mix
Glue or tape
Dollar store cotton swabs
Scissors

I used an empty taco shell box. It's a good way to recycle your trash. You can use any type of box you would like.

I had some left over taupe colored wall paint that I used to paint the box's base color. Wall paints or craft paints will cover the box. Watercolor or poster paints will not as they are too thin and watery and the box image will show through. So just use a heavy paint as your base color.

Mixed some black poster paint with my blue poster paint to get a nice Midnight Blue color. I also added some water to the container to make it watery.

I almost always use cheap dollar store cotton swabs to paint with dollar store poster paints. I can just throw the swabs out and I do so many projects that washing brushes would take up too much time for me. The swabs to break apart fast but I get 350 (700 - both sides) swabs for a dollar at the dollar store.

So I dripped the watery poster paint down the box. Let it dry.

I unrolled a toilet paper roll after wetting it. Let it dry and then painted it black with black poster paint.

I then used silver glitter/glue from the dollar store to write on the black label.

Glitter mixed with glue from the dollar store.

The glitter glue comes out thick but drys flat and glittery.

Then I glued the "Ghoul" label to the box.

Then I put bats and cotton cobwebs I made for other projects I've posted on this blog.
