Flower Bouquet Made From Styrofoam Egg Cartons
Egg Carton Flowers
Really inexpensive and cool way to make a floral bouquet from Styrofoam egg cartons.
What you will need for this DIY project:
Styrofoam egg cartons - White cartons don't need to be painted.
Paint - I used gray and navy blue paint.
Bamboo wood skewers - found at the grocery store.
Scissors
Here are step by step instructions.
Step 1 - Gather your Styrofoam egg cartons and cut off the sides.
Keep only the egg holder section.
Cut the carton into sections.
Cut into more sections.
The four rounded ends only need to be painted and not cut.
The other pieces need to be cut at the four corners. You can do some shaping of the petals if you like. I generally shape only a few odd pieces into petal shapes leaving most as they are.
Now paint all the individual pieces, inside and out. I use dollar store cotton swabs to paint with.
Pick three painted pieces and one painted round corner piece. You will be making a flower out of these pieces.
The rounded corner piece is your base piece. Take another piece and fit it into your base piece.
Take another piece and fit it into your other pieces.
Rotate the pieces and scrunch them up to get them to fit and that also makes for a more realistic looking flower.
Put your final piece in.
Paint a bamboo skewer white with a gray tip (the gray tip will show through so it needs to match the flower petal color).
Now just push the tip of the skewer through the Styrofoam flower.
Put them into your vase and you are done. You've got a really cool bouquet of flowers.
