Glittering, shimmering Rocks

Easy Interior or Exterior Home Decoration Idea

What you will need for this project:

Rocks
Glue
Glitter
Planter
Coconut Oil - Optional for rock polishing.

Collect an assortment of rocks. Wash the rocks in a bucket filled with warm, soapy water to remove all dirt. After washing let them dry. 

Put 5 or 6 rocks aside.

You can polish the remaining rocks with coconut oil to add a temporary polished look to them.

Take one of the 5 or 6 rocks and cover the top of the rock with a thin layer of glue. 

Sprinkle your glitter over the glue covered areas of the rock. Shake off the extra glitter from the rock onto a piece of paper. Let dry. 

Keep repeating this process (covering the rock with glue and then sprinkling with glitter) until the whole rock is covered in glitter and is dry.

Do the same for the other put aside rocks.

Fill your planter with a light weight filler. I used an old, empty, upside down cool whip container. This is to take up space in your planter so that it will weigh less when you add all your other rocks.

 

Now fill the planter with non-glittered rocks. 

Finally add the glittering rocks on top.

Now you've got a really neat, and shimmering home decor piece that is practically free.
